Tanning Ledge
Found at many of the world’s top resorts, tanning ledges are very shallow sections of the pool that allow for lounge chairs. This creates the ultimate spot for tanning, all the while being able to dip your feet in the water and cool off!
Spillway
A spillway is a feature that will enhance the aesthetics of your backyard pool. Similar to the concept of an infinity pool, a spillway is created when a water feature from above is filled to the brim, creating a continuous stream of water flowing into the pool below. In residential pools, you’ll often see this in the form of a raised main pool with a lip to catch run off, or raised hot tub spilling into the main pool.
Swim Up Bar
This is a fantastic feature for those who value hosting! Swim up bars make it easy to access your refreshments while in the pool! Create and serve specialty drinks to your pool-going friends, or simply grab a drink from the mini fridge! Another benefit of the swim up bar is that it saves space. By putting your pool and bar/grill area close together, it allows more room for lounge areas under your covered patio space.
Grotto
A grotto is a protected cave, hidden away from the main part of the pool. Many grottos are built within natural stone with a waterfall flowing over the entrance, making for a secluded hideaway. Consider adding a hot tub into this area for the ultimate adult retreat, or a water slide if you have young kids!
