Clean Your Pool
Before jumping right in, it is important to give your pool a nice, thorough clean. Since the water has likely sat still for a few months on end, it can be very dirty. Make sure to treat your pool with the appropriate chemicals. You should also ensure the filtration system is working properly, clean out any debris, and check chemical levels.
Check Everything is Running Properly
There are systems put in place to make sure your pool water stays clean. Get your pool ready for summer by checking that everything is running properly. Do a bashwash of the swimming pool filter. You should keep running your filter until the water appears completely clear. Next, make sure the pump is working correctly. You will also want to check and clear all skimmers.
Add More Water
Depending on your pool levels, you may need to add more water! To get your pool ready for summer, you should make sure there is enough water to swim in! Since some pools lose water over the winter, you will want to top-off your pool to the appropriate water level. Not all pools will need this step, but many of them will.
Maintain
Getting your pool ready for the summer is more than just checking everything looks good before summer gets here. While this is a great first step, it will also be important to maintain the cleanliness of your pool over the summer.
